Mission, Vision & Values
The Board of Child Care's mission as an outreach ministry of The United Methodist Church is to serve children and families who require physical, emotional, behavioral and social support. Through residential and community-based services, the agency will endeavor to provide a safe, healthy and caring environment that seeks to sustain children and families by fostering self-esteem, respect for the community, a sense of purpose and life skills needed to achieve their highest potential.
To be a community of hope: providing an opportunity to heal, and a safe and caring environment for children, youth and families.
BCC's programs are diverse and our team of staff are highly trained to meet the unique needs of children affected by poverty, abuse, neglect and developmental difficulties.
BCC remains true to its roots as an outreach ministry of the Baltimore-Washington and Peninsula-Delaware Conferences of The United Methodist Church. Contributions from Conference members help support BCC programs. Children in BCC's residential programs are encouraged to participate in spiritual life activities to enrich their personal growth and provide comfort.
BCC is a premier child and family-serving agency within the Mid-Atlantic region. Our solid reputation is based on the quality services our talented staff provides children and families, and the strong relationships we develop and maintain with the community.
BCC meets the highest standards of service delivery to children and families through accreditation from the Educational Assessment Guidelines Leading toward Excellence (EAGLE), the Council on Accreditation for Children and Families (COA) and the National Commission for the Accreditation of Special Education Services (NCASES).
