Treatment Foster Care Program
The Board of Child Care’s Treatment Foster Care (TFC) Program provides therapeutic, nurturing, community-based foster homes to youth needing higher level care than what is provided in traditional foster homes.
Many TFC youth have experienced traumatic abuse or neglect and need caring adults to understand their pain, instill positive family values and celebrate their successes.
Youth in the TFC program are age 4 to 21. Sibling groups may also be placed with the TFC program if at least one youth meets the criteria. These youth typically have developmental, emotional, or behavioral challenges that require specially trained foster parents and social workers to help them successfully overcome these challenges.
