Education
Strawbridge School gives many students their first experience of success in the classroom. Opened in 1994, Strawbridge is a nonpublic school for students in grades 5 to 12. Using a state-approved curriculum, students are referred to this special school because disciplinary problems prevent public school attendance or due to various family crises. Each student is individually assessed upon entry so that their unique needs can be addressed, both academically and emotionally.
The school fills a vital need for students from surrounding counties, as well as for children and youth with special needs already participating in the on-campus residential program. Staff guide each student to achieve their highest potential through academic and therapeutic programs. Each student also has access to other school facilities and programs, such as vocational training, computer labs, and a large fitness centers. Students work toward a high school diploma or a certificate of completion.
