Board of Child Care staff needs your help with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
The Board of Child Care (BCC) serves some of the most vulnerable populations throughout the Mid-Atlantic. BCC provides behavioral health services to children, youth, and families across a continuum of care, including residential, education, and treatment foster care. As an essential health care service provider, our staff are working around the clock!
We are grateful for our intimate connection with the communities we serve. While staff attend to the needs of our youth, we are concerned about their safety as they offer compassionate, trauma-informed care to our kids during this time of crisis. In keeping with our tradition, we are reaching out to our community to assist us with the following items and emotional support as we care for one another at BCC.
How You Can Help
Cash donations are truly the most helpful right now as vendor supply lines have been re-established, PPE quality varies greatly (sometimes we can’t use donated items even though well intentioned), and our ongoing need for PPE means we are ordering pretty consistently every other week. However, we are grateful of all forms of support. If you would prefer to donate physical items, here are our current needs:
N95 or KN95 masks(sufficiently stocked)
- Surgical masks
- Isolation gowns
- We appreciate rain poncho donations but to be worn safely in the living units and driving vehicles they must be long sleeved and be fit to the body / not the loose, traditional poncho shape.
Shoe covers(sufficiently stocked) Gloves(sufficiently stocked) Goggles(sufficiently stocked)
- Join our volunteers in making homemade masks. For more information click HERE
You can help us secure PPE by making a cash donation online HERE. To designate your gift for PPE, please put “PPE” in the comment section.
