We are here to provide hope, help, and healing to youth and their families.

All children deserve the best chance in life, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, or other environmental factors.

However, many are faced with tremendously difficult circumstances. The youth we serve often lack access to some of the most basic human necessities—like suitable housing, education, and mental health care.

Many have been scarred from emotional, physical, and psychological trauma, left feeling abandoned or forgotten. These young individuals face immense challenges as they strive to accomplish the same thing we all desire to achieve: a fulfilled, purposeful life.

This is where BCC shines its light.

We place youth and their families on a better path to success by providing the building blocks and tools needed to take charge of their future. What that path looks like differs for every person we embrace in our community. For some, it’s a journey in discovering their true potential. For others, it’s a place to open up and heal.

No matter the need, our extensive range of services means BCC can help where others cannot.

We are here to provide a safe, structured setting when a child lacks the most fundamental human need: a place to call home.

Our Mission.

When, as a community, we make sure that everyone can reach their potential and fully contribute to our communities, we all benefit. Maximizing the potential of children, people who are our neighbors, our workforce, and our civic body ensures that our communities remain vibrant places to live, work, and play.

Enriching communities, one family at a time.

Our Core Values

Board of Child Care’s community is comprised of program participants, employees, board of directors, and volunteers. Our values guide each of those stakeholders in how to behave and are structured to ensure that they are at the forefront of every decision and action. See some of our past core value award winners and their stories here.

SAFETY as a mindset

We value life, spirit, and health above all else and take action to maintain the safety of our workplaces, programs, and services through a trauma-responsive lens. We are personally accountable for our own safety and collectively responsible for the mental, emotional, and physical safety of our community.

Foster RELATIONSHIPS within our Community

Openness and honesty with all stakeholders make for both the best program outcomes and team culture. Inclusive practices are the building blocks for trust. We create space for conversations that grow transparency about our decisions, promises, and understanding of one another.

Listen and respond with EMPATHY

Empathy will guide our programming and culture at all levels. A supportive work and program environment means valuing the voices of all people, ensuring equitable representation, and growing a desire to know and understand others. We recognize that with empathy we will better understand what type of care and encouragement to provide.

IMPACT drives lasting change

We seek to make lasting change in the lives of those we work with by providing services that are inclusive, measurable, and durable. We maximize our impact by investing in staff and board development. Feedback presents an opportunity for action, which enhances and strengthens our programs and their outcomes.
