Planned Giving

Planned Giving

Your investment enables us to pursue our mission of enriching communities, one family at a time.

Your Investment is our Future

Board of Child Care doesn’t believe in saving for a rainy day. We prefer to think of it as saving for the future, rain or shine.

We’re not talking about squirreling away some funds just in case we encounter tough times down the road. And we’re not talking about a “money–in, money–out” approach to covering our day-to-day operating expenses. We’re talking about securing our organization’s future. We’re talking about expanding our programs, extending our mission, and reaching out to greater numbers of people to help in more effective and exciting ways.

Whether it's through a bequest, a trust, a charitable gift annuity, or a life insurance policy, your investment enables us to pursue our mission – to enrich communities, one family at a time – in bigger and better ways, for years to come.

Planning Matters

What, when, and how you give makes a difference to both you and the communities and families we serve. You have a variety of planning tools and options available to you. Some planned gifts entitle you to an immediate income tax deduction; others provide flexibility during your lifetime and can provide benefits to your estate and your heirs. All of them enable you to create a philanthropic legacy much more meaningful than you may have ever imagined.

Types of Planned Gifts:

Bequest

Bequests are gifts identified in your will or trust. Take this easy step to ensure Board of Child Care’s impact into the future. A gift through your will or trust is the easiest gift you can make today. You can find sample bequest language below.

Retirement Assets

A gift from your retirement assets, (IRA, 401k, 403b, pension or other tax deferred plan), is a simple and tax-effective way to make a significant gift to Board of Child Care.

Life Insurance

Did you know that you can give your life insurance policy to BCC today and receive a charitable income tax deduction? You can also make deductible contributions to BCC each year which we may use to pay the premiums. Our organization receives the proceeds of your policy after your lifetime.

Gifts That Provide Income

If you want to bring hope to children, but need to maintain income from an asset you would like to give to Board of Child Care, a life income gift may be a perfect solution. These gift plans allow you to receive payments (for life or a period of years) from assets you donate today. Afterward, remaining funds are used by Board of Child Care for the purposes you designate. You can use these plans to increase income, reduce taxes, diversify holdings, and create lasting change for children and communities.

Ready to Get Started?

For your will or trust, work with your lawyer to add language to include a bequest to Board of Child Care. Depending on your situation, it may be as easy as adding a simple codicil to your current plan.

To designate Board of Child Care as a beneficiary of your retirement assets, life insurance plan, or bank accounts, simply contact your retirement plan administrator, life insurance provider, or banking/financial institution to fill out and file the appropriate beneficiary designation form(s) or payable on death (POD) form(s).

If BCC determines at any time that a bequest cannot be used as it was originally intended, the Board of Directors will apply the proceeds to a purpose that most closely resembles the donor's intention. Providing such a provision in your will creates an unrestricted bequest, which assures that your gift will be used where it is most needed.
